I am a dual-trained Emergency Medicine physician with extensive experience in clinical practice, leadership, and medical education across the United Kingdom and the United States. Board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM), I bring over a decade of expertise.

I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine & Surgery, University of Malta, in 2010. Since then, I have completed two rigorous Emergency Medicine residencies—one in the UK, and another in the US. CLINICAL LEADERSHIP AND OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Currently, I serve as the Emergency Department Medical Director for a busy Level II Trauma Center, which is also a designated stroke, heart attack, and pediatric emergency care facility. In this role, I oversee clinical operations, implement quality assurance measures, and drive departmental efficiency to enhance patient outcomes.

Previously, I held the position of Medical Director for an Emergency Department, EMS, and air ambulance service in Malta. I was responsible for managing pre-hospital and hospital-based emergency care systems.

In addition, I conduct detailed analyses of complex medicolegal cases in my capacity as a litigation case reviewer.

FORENSIC AND CUSTODY MEDICINE

My background as a Forensic Medical Examiner in custody medicine for the Metropolitan Police Service of London and other UK police services has equipped me with specialized expertise in forensic and custody medicine. During my tenure, I provided clinical care to individuals in police custody and contributed to cases with legal and forensic complexities. My Diploma in Forensic Medical Sciences from London further strengthens my expertise in this niche area.

Well, initially we would need an introductory call with a legal team (solicitor or lawyer). I would check for any conflicts, discuss the case and agree on any issues which need to be reviewed. This would be followed by an agreement and I would then evaluate any documents. Following this I can start forming preliminary opinions, and may identify that I need additional documents, or even experts. Having open discussions with the legal team are important so that I can start to prepare objective reports. The review and advise process will continue until a conclusion can be made and a final report made.
